Craft Lightning Spring Edition!

It is time for another week of Craft Lightning! I’m partnering with Angie from the Country Chic Cottage, and we’ll be sharing with you fun springtime crafts that take 15 minutes or less! Every morning, each of us will share with you a tutorial so that you can make a quick and easy spring craft. And every afternoon we’ll have round-ups sharing fun 15 minute crafts from some of our crafty friends!

We want you to join in on the fun, too! Add your 15 minute or less craft to the linky below, and one of us might feature you in one of our daily roundups!

New 30 Minute Crafts Newsletter!

30 minute crafts newsletter head

I’m so excited to share with you the new 30 Minute Crafts Newsletter!

With Google Reader going away soon, I wanted to offer you a way to get weekly updates on all things quick and crafty! Every Monday morning, you’ll get an e-mail in your inbox with the goings on here at 30 Minute Crafts.

I won’t sell this list. I won’t share your e-mail addresses. This is just between you, me, and the crafty goodness that we all love. I hope you’ll subscribe! It is as easy as entering your e-mail address below, hitting the subscribe button, and then confirming your subscription the next time you go to your inbox.

If you no longer want these Monday e-mails, you can unsubscribe. Every e-mail will have an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom, so if you ever feel like it is too much… you can just click it, and you won’t see me in your inbox anymore.

But I don’t see that happening. After all, who doesn’t want quick crafts in their inbox?

Individually Monogrammed Glasses

We have a household of 4, yet we use an unnatural number of cups and glasses. Considering that the baby doesn’t drink out of regular cups yet (unless he happens to get his hands on one), it is even more frustrating how fast the dishwasher fills up! That’s why I love this solution! These individually monogrammed glasses all “match” each other in style, but they are each personalized for a different member of the family. Now everyone knows which glass is theirs (and there is no more arguing about who had the red cup or who had the blue one).

They would also be great for a dinner party – very practical in an informal setting when people are walking around with their drinks. And because the glasses can be purchased at the dollar store, it is an easy, inexpensive, and fun favor that your guests can take home with them.

$2 Hobo Bag

Recently, Dollar Store Crafts offered a contest for readers to submit a 30 Minute Craft made with Dollar Store supplies. I was floored by all the awesome crafts that were submitted. This $2 Hobo Bag was one of my favorites! I love how simple it is to make, even for a beginning sewist. Just a few quick stitches and you’ve finished a simple bag! Using a bandana is fun because they come in so many different colors and patterns, are inexpensive, and are already cut to the right size!

Fast and Easy Polka Dot Canvas

This polka dot canvas is so super simple to make! And I love a decor piece that is both easy to make and easy to customize to any space. Just pick the colors that go in your room, and you’re already halfway done! If you’re someone who switches out your decor on a regular basis, then this is a must-do piece. Because you can whip up a new one to go with your space in just a few minutes… and these canvasses are super cheap at the crafts supply store!

Angie and I are working on some fun live crafting with Styrofoam! Dr. Seuss Cootie Catcher

I remember playing with Cootie Catchers when I was a kid. We would fold our own and write all the colors, numbers, and phrases on the inside. This fun Dr. Seuss Cootie Catcher already has all the work done for you – you just have to print it out and fold on the lines! Such a fun game for kids (psst – fun for adults too)!

Peep Bunny Straws

Peeps are the classic Easter candy I remember from my childhood. Even today, just thinking about biting into one of those sugar-coated marshmallows… yum! My mom used to always send peeps with us to school at Easter time. Back then there were just the chicks, and they only came in yellow. Now there are bunnies as well as chicks, and they come in all kinds of fun colors. So fun for crafting ideas like this one – peeps on straws! Such a fun idea for an Easter breakfast!
