Super Simple Tooth Holder for the Tooth Fairy

My oldest has started losing baby teeth. He has lost 4 so far, and there are more to come. Teeth, once removed from a mouth, are gross. I don’t want to touch them if I can help it. So I came up with these little tooth-shaped felt pockets. I can whip up a bunch of them quick and easy. My son can slip the latest casualty of growing up into one, and slip it under his pillow. The tooth fairy can remove it, toss it in the garbage (one that he won’t see), and replace it with a fresh tooth pouch that has a golden dollar coin tucked into it (though a folded dollar would work just as well… so would a quarter if your tooth fairy hasn’t given in to inflation.

Crystal Arrowhead Earrings

If you’re looking for something with a little sparkle, a little dangle, and that is crazy easy to make, look no further than these crystal arrowhead earrings! They are fast and easy, and take almost no jewelry-making skills!

Crystal Arrowhead Earrings - you won't believe how easy these are to make!

You’ll need:

supplies for arrowhead earrings

2 pieces of chain (these are 1.5″ long, but you can make yours longer or shorter – you’ll just want them both to be the same length).
2 earring wires
2 large jump rings
2 arrowhead-shaped crystals

If you can’t find arrowhead-shaped crystals, don’t worry! Find another shape you like – they just need to have a hole in the top that goes all the way through. Teardrop shaped crystals are another fantastic option for this design.

Open your jump ring (always by twisting sideways, and never by prying open), and put on the crystal and chain. Close the jump ring.

Put the earring hook on the other end, opening the bottom of the hook the same way you open a jump ring.

Repeat for the second earring.

Seriously – so, so easy, right?

DIY WyldStyle Hair Streaks

Who is your favorite Lego Movie character? I’m a big fan of Wyldstyle. She’s a free-spirit and Lego Master Builder who believes wholeheartedly in the prophecy that will deliver The Special to save Bricksburg. So, I decided to make some Wyldstyle hair streaks that I could wear – and remove when I didn’t need that wild style.

These are great to wear to Legoland! My boys and I recently went to Legoland to see the new Lego Movie in 4D! It is a short (less than 15 minute) film featuring our favorite Lego Movie characters, like Emmet, Wyldstyle, Unikitty, and Benny. It premiered at Legoland, CA this weekend, and you’ll be able to watch it there this summer!

Make DIY Wyldstyle Hair Streaks

To make the streaks, you’ll need:
Thread in pink and blue (I used Isacord 40 wt. in Pretty in Pink and Pacific Blue)
Bobby Pins
Tape
Glue
Scissors
Box for wrapping (I used a priority mail box)

supplies to make your own wyldstyle hair streaks

Tape an end of the thread to the box, then wrap around and around. And around, around, around, around…

When you have enough, thread the bobby pin through one side.

Pull it through to one side.

pull bobby pin into place

Cut the thread on the other side.

cut other end

Use another piece of thread to wrap close to the bobby pin. Wrap about a dozen times.

wrap with thread

Tie with a double-knot, then secure with a dab of glue.

dab of glue

Repeat with the second color.

Chalkboard Heart Frame

This Chalkboard Heart frame is insanely easy to make – you only need a few supplies. Your kids can help make this frame, and they’ll love how easy it is to change the sentiment – just erase the chalk and write again!

Valentine’s Table Setting

Valentine’s is my favorite. It isn’t nearly as high-stress as Christmas, and there are so many fun ways you can decorate. Sure, it is easy to grab the roses, the red, and pinks… but you can make a simple table setting using black and white as well, and it is just as beautiful as one decked out with rose petals!

Black and white Valentine's Day table setting - a classy and romantic option!

You’ll need:

White China
Wine Glass (and water glass if you like)
Small and large doily
Black and white Valentine’s ribbon
Black cloth napkin
Heart-shaped glass ornament
Permanent marker

supplies for table setting

Use the permanent marker to write a name or sentiment on the ornament.

DIY Bouquet of Flowers

Whether you’re putting together a bouquet of flowers for Valentine’s Day, another special occasion, or just because… you don’t have to break the bank to give them! You can put together your own bouquet of flowers that can look just as good as ones you bought from a florist, and at a much lower price tag! Flourish and Knot will show you how to put together your bouquet.

Simple Card Wallet

This simple card wallet makes the perfect gift for the guy in your life, but is a great idea for almost anyone – you can use it to hold store cards or gift cards. Tuck a couple gift cards in and give as a gift! If you like the pattern, you could adjust it a little to add a zippered coin pocket on one side – but I love how simple it is to make, just like this.
